Before Jesus ascended into the heavens 40 days after His resurrection, He commissioned His 12 closest followers, also known as the apostles, with a mission. Do you remember what that mission is? “Go and make converts of all nations.” That’s it right? Oh wait, it goes like this: “Go and make believers of all nations.” Nope, that’s not it. “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” That’s more like it! The reality is, Jesus was in the business of making disciples. Not simply people who believe in Him for forgiveness (though that is important, it is merely the first step of an incredible adventure of following Jesus).
