Have you ever found yourself afraid to share your faith with others? If so, this is the post for YOU!

Humans are built to strive in a community and desire to feel like they belong in their friend groups. A community is a feeling of fellowship with others that share common attitudes, interests, and goals.

Your faith and relationship with God are personal and different from those around you, but it doesn’t have to be kept to yourself. When you start to share your faith with others, you will be able to connect with those are around you. For instance, if you never talked about your faith with your friends, the possibility of sharing that could persuade them to listen about your beliefs and relationship with God.

1 Corinthians 1:10 says: I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Here are the steps to show up in YOUR community!

  1. Join clubs or groups on campus that affiliate with your faith! This is a perfect way to find new friends and get to know who in your community has the same faith as YOU! FCA is a great club that is found on a lot of Orange County high schools!

  2. Volunteer in your community by giving back to others! This is another opportunity to find new friends and hear why they decided to volunteer. There are organizations that you can find on your campus, and here at HSM, we have options that you can take part in!

  3. Understanding that God wants you to be vulnerable to sharing your faith with your friends and family. He wants you to feel like you belong in your community and you have those that can support you through the good and bad.

I know that this can be challenging because it takes a lot of courage and vulnerability, but if you are able to share your faith with just a small group of people, it can not only make an impact on you, but also those who are possibly interested to leap into your beliefs.

I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. —Philemon 1:6
